Hi
I have a 2012 Fortuner. Are there any roof consoles available for these fortuners? I have an Outback one in the Hilux but they do not fit in the Fortuners. If there isn'y one available, where do I mount the radio so that it is out of the way but still easy to reach.
Regards

I mounted mine behind the "centre console box" I made a ply wood holder for the radio. It stands vertically with the info panel and knobs facing up and it is held in place with bungy cords attached to the front seat rails. Its easy to install and remove, the VHF antenna is mounted on the roof rack.
When you come to a fork in the road, take it!

Hi made a bracket for mine under the glove compartment.
Yours sounds a lot more sturdy than mine. Any pictures?

Hi Frederick
I've mounted mine using the velcro hooks on the radio to the carpet on the driver side. For the antenna I've drilled a hole in the left fender, mirror to the normal antenna position. Works well and no problems after two Namib/ia trips. Seat can still move all the way forward if required.

I removed the little box with the light between the sun vizors the bracket filled the gap nicely. Ran my wires under the roof lining into the corner posts, down and thru the firewall. Works like a charm.
