SFA Bucket seats?

Post by Jaco Versfeld »

Hi There,

At long last I have sourced two Hilux 1995 Raider bucket seats for Mufasa. How comfortable are these seats? Is this the best option, or should I look at something else?

Kind Regards,
J

Jaco I've heard guys mention Honda Civic seats, apparently they are really comfy and easy to fit... but if you're a thoroughbred SFA Hilux addict then only original Toyota will do!

Schalk you can basically fit any seats in your Hilux as long as it has runners. I know of guys who fitted BMW 328, Hyundai, Honda Civic, Cressida, Camry, Tazz, and even Peugeot seats in their Hiluxes. In my case I had Cressida seats in a previous Hilux and Toyotas Celica seats in the last one.

Mounting the seats is pretty straight forward, and you can always modify the mounting brackets on the runners to prevent having to drill new holes in the floor.

Mine has Condor seats in at the moment, that will become available a bit later.

Condor seats are nice, especially when offroading, but at night I struggle, as I am about 6.1 - 6.2 feet tall and with the seats I have to look through that blue strip at the top of the windscreen. If you are a bit shorter than me, then the Condor seats might work. The IFS seats pose the same problem as the Condor seats.

Other guys have fitted Camry seats, and also Conquest seats.

I wonder how Colt seats will work, especially for the taller guys, as these are also fairly flat...
