Got a "Rally Bakkie" in at M&P Fabworx for a complete 4-link suspension set-up.The owner has specified his needs and what He wants to do with the Rig. We have already got most of the mounting hardware fabbed up and the rear links are welded as well ready for fitment in the week. All the link bushings are Tig welded for extra strength and the rest will be Mig welded onto the chassis.
This set-up gives exellent articulation while adding great diff stability under load. The Rig has a Lexus V8 that should give it enough power to play with as well !

please post all pics. what does something like this cost? And what coils and shocks do you use?

I thought of this on my Bakkie, for better articulation, and a softer ride with the coils instead of Leaves.

There's great benefits with a 4-link and articulation is only one of them. Drivability is a lot better than a leaf sprung Rig as well. The fuel tank is an issue on a street driven Hilux because it's in the way of the links. The cost installed is about 12K excluding the shocks.

busy with V8 now. Endless pit this Hilux. Think Ill have to be happy with the suspension I have for now

Got the 4-link finished yesterday afternoon.....works like a dream with no binding at full flex.....
Heres some pics.... Have been busy with a KZTe that had it's front end suspension hacked out....
We stuck a locked solid front axle in on blades, running Longs and 35"s with no body lift....this is going to be 1 badass Rig when We're done...

Is there a reason why you use blades in front of the KZ and not coils?

Using coils would mean making up a 3 or 4 link suspension which can be awkward to fit around the motor, also you can't take a link off the top of the diff housing as it's set to one side and therefore not symmetrical. To minimise axle wrap the link points on the axle need to have some decent vertical spacing for leverage. I can imagine, although not impossible it would involve a lot more work and expense. The leaf packs already provide a lot of the stabilisation required.

Thats it Andy.....theres another way .....using Cruiser control arms, this gets you away from the motor but does limit articulation a bit.....the other down side is a Panhard rod to control the diff that usually takes all the Shots in an obsticle first ! Tri-angulated 3-links also an option again with a Panhard rod. The coils also become cumbersome and get in the way of the tyres....best to get a set of King or Fox coil-over shocks with this combo.

Yes, it is an old thread and sometimes the OP's fall by the way side. Mark hasn't been active here for some time now but I'm sure there are other members that could give you a few indicators.
