Depends on how much you want to enhance it.

Start with a fuel injection conversion, it make a huge difference.

...... and stop right there if you're serious about off-roading. Branches and freeflow help a little and EFI a lot more, all without affecting the low rev torque. If however you start messing with cams and the like, you start kissing that goodbye.
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.

Hi all, thanks so much for your comments. I already have branches and a free flo on. Was wondering what the fuel injection conversion will cost? Can you refer me to who can install this - ased on the East rand or JHB surrounds.

Dont really want to loose the ability to off road, this is essentially where I want to play. Just concerned that it may not have enough torque / power when towing.

Compete EFI will set you back around R15k it you decide to do it.

A good person around here to talk to is Louis from 4x4 Mega in Pta. Just do a quick search and you will find heaps of info

Hallo Andre,

The Hardest thing is to land the complete 22R-E Efi Manifold. It means you have to import from the US. In some cases in Australia aswell.

These you have to watch each day on E-Bay. One point, IT HAS TO BE COMPLETE. If you lucky it will be $100. But I saw a few for as much as $250. You will either get the 22R-E or 22R-ET Manifolds, it is the same but few points that differ.

If you have the Efi Manifold then your there.

Watch the space under AdrianZ 22R... to become 22R-E.
