stEFi
So I decided to jump at the opportunity that presented itself and bought an EFi setup complete with optical dizzy, coil and Dicktator.
Apart from work, also the reason why I didn't go top Hennops, as the carb setup has been sold and being collected tomorrow :problem:
Stripped all the Fatti's & Moni's as well as the original dizzy Sat afternoon quickly.
Sun afternoon finished the gasket & fitted the bottom part. Also hooked the water pipes that pass through the manifold, except for the thermostat bypass, still need a flexible hose as the original won't fit as well as I would like it.
Then test fitted the top part & modified the hydraulic pipe going from the brake booster to the left caliper to make room for the "branch" for cyl # 4.
Tonight:
Clean tappet cover
Fit optical pickup dizzy + harness
Fit gaskets for top half & bolt down.
Any tips/contacts on an HP pump (preferably Bosch) are welcome. Diesel Electric wants R1500 for the 3 bar universal pump, too rich for me...

I got a (High Pressure) HP fuel pump for my 4y from Goldwagon, think it was originally for the VW Kombi/Caravelle. It is still working good after 3 years.

Hi Cassie,

Dit is waar jou fuel pressure regulator inkom.

Kyk by die Midas by 18de laan, die 3 bar Universal Bosch(Inline) pomp sal daar so R1195 wees Stef.

Cheers,

Jy't my gesê laas ja, kon nog nie daar uitkom nie ( jy praat van 18de laan innie Moot?), die local Midas by my het net Huco en dan is dit ook nie HP nie. Ek glo ook maar aan Bosch, alhoewel Denso is ook baie goed IMO.4x4megaworldpta wrote:Kyk by die Midas by 18de laan, die 3 bar Universal Bosch(Inline) pomp sal daar so R1195 wees Stef. Re: stEFi
Making good progress, mainly due to the setup coming off a working 22R conversion.
Last night I fitted the dizzy, coil & harness and mostly did some figuring out.
The main hold up now is the water hose, need to fit that before fitting the plenum chamber; then I can do the brake booster & breather setups.
Some mods to be done to the harness & coil, do not quit like the setup here:

Very little progress last night...
Fitted the water hose and dismantled the harness to re-route the wires the way I would like. Stripped the plug from the orinigal ignitor so that I can do the coil ignitor hookup without cutting into the original harness.
Today sourced a new AMP connector for the TP100 hopefully I'll have it tomorrow; this will get rid of all the joints on the ignitor plug.

Re: stEFi

managed to keep the original brake booster pipe setup with tee for the diff lock
uitstaande:
6) Dyno

Didn't get much done over the weekend, but managed to finish a few things....
Modified the the feed from the tank to 10mm ID
While I had the tank out I gave a quick once over with the spray gun
Made my own bracket for the Dictator; the setup will be completely hidden behind the console
Had a new steel fuel line made at the hydraulic shop yesterday and replaced the original one running along the chassis. Pics to follow.
Also made a bracket for the fuel pump, will finish that tonight

Het dieselfde setup soos in jou pic, my bracket is net anders.

Dis 'n swarte.

All done, except the air intake.
Saturday I went to town to get a few odds & ends, finished the pump installation, recrimped the AMP connector on the ignitor, sleeved everything and taped it up with flame retardent tape.
Drove it around the block and... can feel the difference!!
Pump bracket, added a channel at the bottom for stability: Pump fitted, all sides lined with 6mm foam rubber Invested in a molex crimper, well worth the R245, recrimped all the solder joints
Got a 70 to 63mm reducer elbow as well as a 63 mm elbow. Still need to find 70mm & 63mm steel pipe to finish the air intake (volkspares didn't have)

Dankie, my vrou reken ek is net vol rioolJEEPIE wrote:lyk netjies

Re: stEFi

Re: stEFi

Re: stEFi
Took a trip to Warmbaths the weekend of the 25th...man what a difference !
No gearing back to 4th, and there is about a R200 difference in fuel consumption on a round trip. Purrs nicely at a cruising speed of 130km/h.
Last week I sourced an ICV off a Golf II at VW Breakers; fitted it this afternoon.
On the 1st go it revved the motor to 3500 rpm Eventually figured out what settings on the Dicktator to play with & voilla..idling perfect now. Well worth fitting an ICV

Ongelukkig nog nie, sal maar die 5l kannetjie moet opkoppel want 80l is net te duur ...en ek het so rondgespeel op die N1 dat daar geen gevolgtrekking van sal kom nie My gevoel reken so 7km/l maar dis seker net om die koste vd conversion te regverdigcprinsloo wrote:Kwaai man!!
