Ok so now that I have a new toy, I've put myself in the position to finally do an engine mod on my '95 S/C SFA.
While I understand that the 2.7i is one of the easier mods as you can pretty much buy everything off the shelf, my question is the following:
1.) Would I need to look at changing the rear diff in order to get the right ratio?
2.)Which diff would I then need to look for ?
3.) Any other changes to the existing drivetrain ?
4.) Does anyone have an idea as to what the costs involved might be ?
I have never attempted anything of this sort, with the (new) second vehicle I can now afford to have the old S/C stand while I do everything. I don't like using my wife's car as it's like kissing your mates grandmother - not much fun
I'm not in a hurry as I'd need to build up the necessary cash reserves but would like to slowly start sourcing the necessary parts.
All advice will be appreciated!

I think you are going about this the wrong way. You should leave the SC engine where it is and instead replace the 5Z engine in your 'new' DC with a 4Y engine. I happen to know where you can get an original 4Y engine completely overhauled at a very good price

Hi Shane.
I love the 2.7.It is very reliable, but remember it is a high revving motor. You could be disappointed with the low down torque I think. For probably the same amount or even less you can fit a lexus

The 2.7 is the most reliable and one of the easiest conversions you can do on a SFA
The diff ratio's are perfect, leave them as is
If you can find one at a scrap yard, you can transfer everything from the radiator to the bell housing, everything fits, you need to fabricate two brackets between your existing mounts and the engine, do the wiring and fuel system.
Import motors gets more involved, you have to look at management/carb conversions

Thanks Guys
Just seen an ad for EFI parts. Will do for a short term, cheaper option.
