Hi there, I bought my SFA with a 5m motor and matching gearbox straight out of a cressida, I have now done a 7m conversion using the same gearbox and bellhousing, it's a straight fit on both motors, the whole conversation cost me 21k and was every sent worth it.

Parts are still available for the 7m motors and if done properly are bullet proof engines that won't break your drive train. Won't break the bank either. Lexus IS an awesome engine but hard on the drive train. You will go through centre portions on your rear prop from the torque.

Agreeing with Gunta,

Redone my conversion on Kaspaas (Thys's old SFA) 2 years back which already had a 7MGE in for most of its life.
With the help of Hoppy\Gunta and Bulletjie-3 and R27k later I have a bulletproof 7M.
But I must add alot of moola went into the machining of the top and block and Cometic gasket and ARP studs from USA. Searched for 6 moths to find a untouched crank and replaced everything back to original spec (Pistons, ect.)

Less than half a year back I bought a unopened 7MGE from a Cressida (not a Supra) for R1200.
I know , I know I'm the luckiest fish ever!! :dance1:

Best position to be in.... an 2013 7MGE and a extra one on ice...

Growls like a angry tiger when touched on the noisemaker pedal.
Its been almost 35 00km's now, haven't had much time going off-road. (moved to CT)
For now I commute when the weather is bad and even in summer with heavy congested N2 traffic from Epping to Somerset West she's been as cool as can be.

When I moved down I had a heavy single axel trailer my brother with his LX V8 double cab Diesel Cruiser (also a heavy double axel trailer) and we both filled to brim in Upington, he had to fill up at van Ryhnsdorp and I continued till Piketberg. He had 150L of Diesel and I had 130L LPG. I averaged 6.3 km\l and the my best ever was 7.8km/l (empty).

Still need to take Kaspaas for a reunion to Thys to tell my if he still enjoys his Welcome Dover Jeep more!

That's awesome, glad she's running well. You did the right things in the beginning so now you can relax and enjoy her
