Re: Monroe Shock Part#
Hi SFA owners , hope someone could shed some light.
I am rebuilding a '92 D/C. Monroe AU 161702 will be too short , I think. The shorter(50mm) shock will pull the suspention down by about 15 mm.
So if I use AU 161702 , there will only be 35 mm of extention left.
If I am to drive over an obsticle the shock on the other side will reach the end of it' travel and pick the wheel up from the ground. Is this normal ? Would the shock not get damaged ?
Might it be that the leaf spring are not std.

Hi Helgaard
Contact Mikem Suspensions they fitted L?C shocks (Gabriel) to my SFA 3 years ago ,have worked fine ever since
if you use SFA as daily driver ,you could fit the more expensive Bilstein shocks

Re: Monroe Shock Part#
I also have the LC Gabriel Safari,(gas) on my SFA. I find the ride as a result quite hard. My Brother has the Old man Emu, non-gas, much softer ride. So the question is who can supply the Gabriel safari equivalent without the gas pressure? Monroe maybe? OLD man Emu are pricey
