Hi Guys
I bought a 1998 Toyota Hilux 2400 LTD SFA about 2 weeks ago and I am new to the 4x4 world.
I just got back from my 1st long trip (150km) and I noticed a small leak around the front left Birfield joint.
Do you guys know any experienced specialist mechanics that can repair or modify my SFA to prevent this fro happening?
I hear this is a common problem with this model and that the original toyota seals are extremely problematic.
SFA Birfield joint leak - help please

They tend to be service now and then but I would not say they are problematic. It's a combination of velt and rubbers seals at the back of the birfield. See this write up on how to service the brifield http://www.hilux4x4.co.za/simon/overhau ... /index.php
