Suspension, Body Lift and Tyres- AGAIN

Post by Christian Kuun »

I need objective opinions PLEASE?!?!?! I have scanned through the posts but have not found what I am looking for.

Lets start with suspension- 2 years ago a local boff said my "suspension het plat geval". I have a 1999 2700i DC SRX with 190 000km on the clock. I would like to get this checked and sorted. I read in an earlier post that I can have the rear leaves re-shaped? Point me in a direction please. Get new torsion bars? Someone had TJM's fitted and said it wasnt too expensive, and I definately need new shocks. I am not forking out R15-20k for a full OME and would like opinions on alternatives. A little suspension lift would be nice too. Thoughts and advice please. Who to call and what sort of costs am I looking at? I am not looking at a more comfy ride or much heavier loading but the suspension is kaput.

Body lift- I would like a little lift on the body too. Who would do this and what sort of costs would I be looking at? Potentially looking at bigger rubber.

Has anyone got 33x12.5x15's on a bakkie like mine? If so, how does the gearing and diff ratio hold out. Alternatively, what about 32x11.5x15's? Will a bit of body lift accommodate these tyres?

Thanks
Christian

Like the other said, Darrell @ Mikem; very helpful guy. IIRC Mikem will get you 45mm lift and that's it.

Ironman's prices are good..About R12k including shocks, bushes and u-bolts for the IFS, check their website.
