Re: Snokles from 4x4direct
Baie nice David

Re: Snokles from 4x4direct

Defneslis.

:problem:

Re: Snokles from 4x4direct

Re: Snokles from 4x4direct
The snorkel will take in as much air as what the motor needs, irrespective which way it faces, and if the ambient air is dusty, well it will suck the same amount of dust. Personally I wouldn't bother about a pre-filter .... it's surface area is small and besides restricting air flow right from the start when it's clean, it will get worse quickly in dusty conditions. I would prefer to just simply remove the donaldson element and tap it out when one stops in the evening and midday. When travelling in convoy on dusty roads you're going to take dust into the intake no matter what. With the height of a snorkel I think that it will be a little less since the heavier dust particles won't rise so high and will tend to settle quicker. So besides the 'ram-air' and 'cold air induction' effects, there is to my mind an additional benefit of 'cleaner' air.
The only disadvantages as I see it is that one might get a bit of 'howl' from wind at speed and if one is driving in heavy rain the exposed snorkel will take in more water than an intake under the bonnet. However, the amount of rain water taken in should not be a problem other than 'caking' the dirt into the filter element and so shortening it's service life a little. Small price to pay for the benefits of a snorkel ..... and it looks cool!

inry , weer kan uit winch he he he he
Very True made me
The 2x Filter box's of the 2.7 will be enough to feed the
v8
Currently on top rev's the stadard fillter colases
i hope with the twins will supply more air
OR
Option 2
Get a truck filter and box
split end and merge them
Then both snorkel's will feed the big one
And the round kappies only suck air from the botton in a twisted blade format
There is a wide range of filter to put in the round on
