KZTE EGT gauge/sensor fitment in CPT

Post by Tsa »

Hi Guys

I am planning on keeping my lux for a few more years and would like to go the EGT monitoring route.
Any of you have the turbologix system installed, any feedback? What about other brands?

Do you know of anyone in CPT area that fit these gauges/sensors? Not 2 happy with diy drilling into engine block/manifolds, etc tec :shock:

Thanks

Morning All

OK, after some research I have found my local Hilux Hero Hoppy willing to fit the EGT probe at a fraction of the price I was quoted at the other places.

Now the next step is to decide on which unit. I am only interested in monitoring EGT (Volts are a bonus).....

http://www.turbologix.co.za/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Turbologix Base one which just shows EGT @ R1370 (incl Probe)
Pro: Small gauge.
Con: Only EGT reading?

http://www.madman.co.za/EGT1.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Madman EGT1 (incl probe) @ R1220which shows EGT + Volts
Pro: Voltage reading.
Con:Not as nice to fit gauge. Would most likely be on dash somewhere where I can see it.

http://www.mglavionics.co.za/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
MGL AVionics TC-1 (incl probe and 2m lead) @ R1640
Pro:Has 4 channels.
Con:L Same as Madman wrt fitment of gauge.

Anyone who currently have these systems have any input regarding this choice.
Those of you who have the Madman or the MGL, how and where did you fit it? Wonder if there is a housing one can put the unit in and then fit in the corner of the driver side dash next to the pillar.

Richard

Look at my thread (viewtopic.php?f=3&t=16677" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;).

The Madman that I have fitted (looks the same as the one in your photo) has EGT, Water Temp, CLD - Coolant level detection, Oil Pressure, Oil Temp, Volts, Hour meter. EGT, Water Temp and the CLD is the most important for me.

It has an audible alarm with a light warning. I can see it through my steering wheel. The nylon piece that they give you to fit the temp sensor and CLD is rubbish - it keeps on leaking. I have one made out off brass. Have a look at - viewtopic.php?f=3&t=20306" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Dankie Louis

Die CLD is vir my belangrik. Ek het my Lux se head gekraak omdat my radiator gelek het.
