So this is my first post
It’s awesome to have such an informative one-stop-shop, thanks.
I recently bought a 2004 2L Hilux, I know it’s no 4x4 but it’s a start...and no other bakkie would do. Also only has 100k on the clock and in show-room nick.
I bought the 2L expecting it to be light on fuel but the simple i4 Carb setup is pretty heavy and has very little power in the higher gears. I’m no 4x4'er but I do take pretty long trips out to farms on the weekends and spend a lot of time messing around in the felt.
What I want to do is increase my economy and possibly a little power boost. I thought this could be done by installing injectors. I know the 2L 1RZ was released as an injected version, the 1RZ-E. What I want to know is how to go about this and what sort of pocket damage am I expecting? Is it easy enough to do myself or is it something that should be done professionally?
I’m hoping that this will be easy enough and, once my powers up, finish up my little 2L 1RZ-E SWB Hi-Line, with a small body lift and some tekkies.
I know there’s a Motor Head out there who can help me. Where do I start?

Welcome Grattan, sorry, I have no idea where you should start. Good luck
