New running shoes

Post by Donkey »

After events of this past weekend :aggresive: , I was like what the hell is this? So I decided to treat myself and Letebele to some new running shoes.

You'll also see on the pics that the back is slightly lower to the front, so longer shackles are next on the list.

Now for some mud! :dance1:

I've actually been listening less to the radio and enjoying the hum of the muds in the backround :yahoo: , and the grunt of the diesel engine, so I'm not complaining and don't see the fuss (if any) about these muds

Tumelo, what price did you get your STT's for?

Nice going Tumelo.

I recently fitted ST's to my KZ-TE and I must say these Coopers KICK ASS!! Initially I found them to be very noisy, but I had them inflated to 2.8 Bar. I then deflated to the recommended 2.1 all round and now I can barely hear them.

Before I bought the Coopers I spoke to many current BF and Cooper owners and the Cooper owners all agreed that the mileage on the Coppers is substantially better than BF's.

Just be careful with the STT's, although you will have unsurpassed performance off road, you may find the road holding slightly compromised on tar. The reason for this is quite simple; due to the bigger tread grooves there is less rubber in contact with the road surface compared to an A/T Tyre and a subsequent loss of road holding - especially in wet weather. But like I said, off-road you will find it hard to improve the performance.

Congrats on your new shoes, certainly looks the part as well

Sorry for me asking but why would it make a difference to inflate them all the wat to 2.8 bar and then deflating them?
How does this reduce the noise in any way?
It makes sense that they might make less noise at 2.8bar.

It think you might have understood incorrectly. He didn't inflate them to that pressure and then deflated them again in one shot. He inflated them, drove around, found them noisy and then deflate them, drove around and then found them to be more quite.

The reason would be is that inflating them to that pressure, the tread surface tends to bulge a bit in the middle. So if you have aggressive pattern in the middle it will make more noise

If you are not used to muds in the wet they can get really slippery. I've heard complaints about the STT's being a bit skidish when it comes to wet roads

That's exactly right Cassie. Thanks

aaaahhhh i see the light at the end of the tunnel!
Thanx guys

I got brand new BF KM2 muds from Rivonia tyres about a month ago for R1500 a tyre, they didnt have any Coopers. sorry can post pics cos my trucks at the panel beaters a lady head ond me, thank goodness for a bullbar, ( Panel beaters say the onca is much stronger than an ARB, its only slightly bent the BMW that hit me is written off)

Tumelo enjoy the tyres, we must do a comparison on perfromance at a GTG as our rides are a;most identical, (both even have white sidewalls)
