Howzit guys,
Im really hoping someone can help me with a really bad squeak coming from my leaf springs. There is a guide that is fastned to the lower leaves and guides all the springs ontop of the pack to sit in the correct position. This guide seems to have a nylon type bush or sleeve that sits in between the springs and the guide. I see over time it has worn out and the springs now rub against the guide, casing a bad squeaking sound.
Toyota recons I cannot get the part seperately not sure if anyone knows where I can get this from.
the AFS does not seem to have the bylon bush.
See pic of my split nylon sleev or bush

Firstly, welcome to the forum Mathew!
That guide is not the source of your squeak IMO. It's far more likely to be dry shackle bushes. If you have greasable shackles you're in luck ... easy solution. If not, you have to remove them and grease them all manually ... not such a nice job. There is another possibility that the squeak originates from one or both of the shocks. Invest in an inexpensive mechanic's stethoscope from Midas ( about R40) to help you pin-point the origin of the squeak .... get someone to rock the vehicle while you crawl in underneath and check out where it's coming from.

Re: IFS Leaf Spring Squeak
Hi, after a lot of time tracking the squeak I don't seem to have any other problems other than that I cannot find that nylon spacer/bushing thing for the guide.
Anyone know where I can get 1 of these please.

If you can't find one, just cut a piece of flexible plastic / rubber / poly-urethane tubing that's the correct diameter and slip it over.
