Hi Guys has anyone done or had this conversion done and auto or manual what box and what t case, std diffs, fuel conumption, what size tyres?

yup...done it

lexus on a gearmax t5 box

standard tf case

standard diffs

33" BF's

consumption ...about 6km/l

sounds good, are there some pics somewhere,why did you use the t5 box, what about the std hilux box? I'd like to keep it all toyota.

many years ago i had the v6/t5 conversion done, and as the T5 was/is made for a V8, it was recommended that i keep the box. Although i was stupid as not to have an auto box fitted.

I fitted one into a 2000 model 2.7 4x4, i used the same gearbox, diff & clutch.

It was done 2 years ago, it's in everyday use and gives exactly the same consumption as the 2.7, but with twice the power.

It works much better in the ifs, it can actually stop and handle beyond 160, so you can use all the power.

It fits with space to spare and it's lighter than the 2.7.

There was a nice looking dark charcoal or black IIRC one at my neigbour a while back with an autobox in. The owner is actually someone who does these conversions for a living. I left the guy a card and sticker and then he told Schalk that he is a member here, but I I have not seen any of its pics here.

Yip, dealt with him. He actually built my hilex for Bartho way back when.

Bartho had endless problems with him and they are still on very bad terms. From the dealings I've had with him his work is good but he's very pricey.

Ek laaik ook, maar die chrome sal swart word. Hentey, ek dink dis soos n vriend van my gese het toe hy sy E55 AMG gekoop het, dis baie goedkoper om n 'gewone' E klas te koop met n baie goeie en kragtige enjin maar hy het die AMG gekoop want hy kan.

Hi Bennie long time no see or here from you . Please if you get in contact with this guy I need to speak to him to busy and too lazy to do the conversion myself.

The Lexus is in, had to extend the manifold flanges backwards, as they rested on the chassis, so the engin went in twice today.
We tried to start it, but no luck. I must have done something wrong, because it ran when I bought it from Fana
