Replacing my Clutch
Hi guys just wana share my sad story today
a month ago my bakkie went in for a service 180k km one
and a friend of mine who did the service found out that my brakes where shot klaar and had to replace
now i got the bakkie +- 6 months ago and have only done 10 000 km
but any way did the brakes and the service 3599 later wasnt to bad for original toyota parts with labor
a week later the prop shafts turned on me and stuffed up my clutch as well
now my friend quoted me on clutch kit and prop shaft balance for 4200 witch i think isn't bad at all and its also toyota parts
so now im thinking of giving him a bit extra for his work so i rounded up the total of R5500 for everything seeing that
he is going out his way to sort out my mess
cant wait to get her back and treat her right and not like the previous owner :)

Re: Replacing my Clutch
Sorry to hear of the expenses but glad you got some one proper to sort it out for you.
Don't feel alone though. My wife's Tazz is currently at the mechanic getting a new clutch kit, oil seals and it's 190 000km service.

Re: Replacing my Clutch
It's actually a strange one. The clutch and everything was / is still fine. Only the release bearing started making noisesPora wrote:eish that sucksCasKru wrote:Sorry to hear of the expenses but glad you got some one proper to sort it out for you.

Re: Replacing my Clutch
your friend is a good mand indeed with that price , after a bit of tag-war, i parted ways with R7200.00 @ toyota commisioner street JHB, for a clutch replacement, my truck was on 170k when the replacement was done.

damn that's pricey but its toyota's labor cost that's so high
i think its like 200+ an hour or something like that
and i know that the mechanic who does that work don't even see half of that
