Does anyone else have a problem with the driver's window not automatically going down completely when it's cold? It only goes down 10 - 20 cm at a time, then stops, so you have to push the button again. This only happens in the cold (in other words, it happened a lot the last 2 days!) - when it is warmer, it rolls down automatically until it is completely open, like it should.

Jarus I am going to take a chance and say it has to do with the rubbers that the window runs in. The auto down system works on resistance. When the window travels to the end of the rails, the motor takes up load (because the window is not moving anymore) and the system stops. It sounds to me like there is friction between the window and the rubbers that is causing the same effect (as above) when it is cold. You can try spraying silicone spray in the wind side rubbers (where the window runs) and see if this helps.

Thanks Theunis, I'll give the silicone spray a try. Sounds at this stage like I'm the only one having this problem?

Sorry guys, been a bit busy lately. Nope, haven't done it yet, but as the weather improved, the problem went away. I'll have to wait for it to get cold again before I try it, otherwise I won't know whether it worked or not. Looks like that might happen later this week...

OK, so I finally decided to try this 5 years down the line (oops). Shop attendant suggested that I use something other than silicone spray, as it might attract lots of dust. He sold me a can of Wynflon (Wynns PTFE based lubricant).

• The good: It works like a charm.
• The bad: It smells TERRIBLE!

So my suggestion - Don't use this inside your car for ANY purpose! :lmao:

Janus, mine started doing the same thing a week ago, hot temperatures, also think that it has to do with the window rubbers. will give it a good clean and take it from there

Funny, mine did it in cold weather. I think the problem is the same though - A good clean should do the trick!
