Radio/ Dash transplant

Post by antlo69 »

A while ago I changed my standard OEM radio for a aftermarket multimedia unit.

Today I got the itch and decided to see how the 2013 radio with centre dash will look like in my 2007 Vigo.

Here are some pichas

Looks good, I would have liked the volume knob on the drivers side. Want to get myself one too, what are they going for the Pioneer? Was always a Alpine fan but it looks like the are not up there with the best anymore. Looks alpine stagnated from the last time I had a head unit.

No USB function on the new OEM. Unless you use a fitting in the back of the radio.

IMHO, if you want gadgets and functions, go aftermarket, if you want just music with Bluetooth but having the good looks of the OEM radio, this 2013 radio fits like a glove in all the Vigo models between 2005 upwards.

Hi
I have a 2012 unit , similar to your top pic and want to install it into my 2010 Hilux. From your pictures I assume that I need to order the dash panel for the 2012 as well because the 2012 radio unit do not fit the 2010 dash panel. Am I on the right track?
