Toyota Factory Shocks VS KONI shocks

Post by johanvb »

I recently bought a Legend 45 DC 4x4.

Fitted a Metallian Canopy, and have two 130 AH batts in the back, each infront of the wheel arches in the back. The Canopy has boxes on either side and in there are all our kitchen stuff, tools etc..When I hit the road..I have two Engel 40's at the back, our canvas tent..ammo box for dry foods and odds and ends..

Oh and there is a extra Frontrunner fuel tank above the spare wheel.

So this weekend we went camping at Philadelhia..just down the road otherside of Durbanville.

I noticed that the back of the bakkie was hanging with the above mentioned weight.

Now..I had the same weight on my Nissan Kingcab..But had fitted KONI shocks and two extra leaf springs either side and no hanging of the back.

I do like the KONI's.

What would you suggest I do regarding the above?

Id start of trying with extra leafs first . Or if not aways loaded this way would a trailer be an option .
No one has ever made it out alive yet .

You will need to beef up the suspension if you are going to be carrying heavy loads constantly...
