I put a race chip in mine . I didnt notice a huge difference in KW but in the torque range it seemed to be more effective . Eg overtaking and hills .
I have still got it if you are interested in buying . R2000.00 is probably a decent price , Welcome for other opinions . It just plugs in , You could have it dyno tested if you wanted to .I was very nervous of stuffing up my engine , So I just ran it on the factory settings .

My bad , Just noticed you already got a race chip.. :cooldude:

Firstly, take that racechip out, drill it full of holes and submerge under water (or even better, acid!) unless you would like some nicely shaped holes in your pistons.

The you lookup Dwayne Voogt(a member here) and take your truck to him.

As soon as you get it back, go hunt 3.0 D4D's and come tell us how it went!

On our 2,5 srx d/cab we started by replacing the exhaust from the turbo with a 63mm pipe that upped the specs from 75kw to 79 and torque from 260 to 276nm. Then it got a chip which took the specs up to 92kw and 319nm. After the warranty expired we fitted a front mount intercooler and upgraded the chip now pushes 102kw and 351nm. It’s still no speed demon as the 3.0l revs easier but it is a much better drive. Engine revs out better 100km/h is now reachable in 3rd gear and 140 in 4th not that I would recommend driving it like that But with my 33inch tyres it still runs better up to 120 than it used to when the bakkie was completely stock. Towing a Boat is also much more fun now than it used to be.

On that note with the 33s and the current setup it outpulls a stock 3.0d4d up till 100 then the 3,0 starts to gain.

Dagsê almal. My SRX, 2013 model, sonder *Intercooler, is Turbotraag. Tweede opsie: 73mm vlekvrye staal uitlaatstelsel volledig(+-R8 000 by Commando bande Sasolburg), derde opsie is vervangings Interkoeler voor in. Gee my asb raad!? Is dit die moeite werd!? Huidig probeer ek my voertuig nie hoër as 3 000 RPM ry nie. Oscar ry egter vervelig lekker!! Raad sal opreg waardeer word! Mooi dag almal! Jaco

Hallo Jaco

76mm pipe is overkill on the 2.5. Biggest difference will come from replacing the front pipe which has a very sharp squashed 90deg bend just behind the turbo. De Graaf does a front pie replacement in 63mm then the rest of the exhaust can also be upped to 63mm free flow. Makes an immediate difference in the power

Jis Manne

Groete.

Os
