Raad oor OME coils

Post by Rigger »

I have searched but can’t find anything that answers my questions. I can buy Old Man Emu front coils for my 2011 Vigo for R1600. It has done 20k km. Its the 2883 coils.

My questions are:

1) Will it make any improvement to handling on and off road with the standard Toyota shocks?

2) I have a 30mm body lift at the front, do I leave it there or will the OME coils lift the front or is that only with OME shocks that you get the lift. I don’t like the nose sagging.

I'm open to correction, but AFA the Vigo is concerned, it's my understanding that you will get about 50 mm lift. With the standard shocks you will not give the full extension that the springs are capable of and that's where most of the real benefit is (the shocks limit the outward travel and the OME shocks are longer).

Off road there will be an improvement in articulation (with both shocks and coils) but I doubt you will have much benefit on the road besides a slightly softer ride.

Hopefully the Vigo owners that have done this can elaborate and correct me if necessary. :winkx:

(P.S. Why not check with the OME fitment centres, they should be able to give you the info you're looking for.)
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.

Ok

Paar goed:
1. Het jy langer shocks?

‘n Nuwe stel 883 coils is R4100 by 4x4Mega.
