Ek dink ook so!
I think that the logic, if one can call it that, is that it creates a cyclonic air movement through the intake. That would mean that the air travels a slightly further distance in the intake (after the fins) since it's not in a straight line, but at a given rpm the same volume of air (supposedly) is still moving through. If that's the case it must also be moving faster. Moving faster over a slightly longer distance would supposedly result in better fuel atomisation which in turn should result in more efficient combustion. I haven't been to their site, nor read up on it, so as I said, that's what I think the logic is supposed to be.
Here's where I have a problem with it - in both carb or EFI the air must pass through a throttle butterfly, which to my mind would disrupt the cyclone to the point of neutralising it, even if it were fully open. The fuel is introduced after the butterfly with EFI and immediately before with a carb, either way it won't get the effect of the cyclone. So in essence all the insert does is restrict airflow IMO.
Correct me if I'm wrong. The only reason I dug up this old thread was because I was told that someone had achieved an extra 2 km/lit with the gadget.
