Custom sump
Had the problem of the sump hitting the draglink when you go over the smallest bump.
I dont want to start talking about the guy who did the engine conversion because I`l just start swearing!
Had the option of lifting the engine with the engine mounts but there was no more clearance on the firewall or at the bonnet.
Could have done a bodylift and then lift the engine, but the bodylift will have to wait.
So I decided to make a new sump. Here goes...

Look closely you will see the small gap between the sump and the draglink.

Re: Custom sump
I removed the original sump and adaptor plate, cleaned it nicely and filled the sump with 5l of water to check the level of the oil.
Recorded the level of the oil from the engine block and roughly calculated the dimentions of the new sump. The new sump must keep the oil on the same level.
Picture below is the original sump and adaptor plate with the new adaptor plate in design.
The motor is a Toyota 3C Turbo, which is a Japanese inport. 2.2l

With the new adaptor plate cut out and fitted just to see if everything fits. The oil pickup is the original.

Re: Custom sump
Now to start with the sump.
Cut out the ring which will me bolted to the adaptor plate. The sump will then be built from this ring.

Re: Custom sump
From the pics, it looks like the sump would be making contact with the track rod and possibly the top of the axle banjo housing... not the draglink... the draglink is the rod between the J steering arm and powersteering box pitman arm...
