Roof insulation

Post by Thabogrobler »

Thanks to Toerboer for the idea that he isolate the roof on his Landy.

I have followed suit and can only say what a pleasant difference!

First you take off the roof lining by undoing all the screws and clips, gently slide it our and install some of these thin foam mattresses the the hikers us. You get it in a 6mm and 12mm me thinks. I used the 6mm, but the 12m would even be better!

I sommer glued the mattress with a neutral curing silicone and replace the headlining after a gentle clean.

The my truck now stands in the sun it does not get so extremely hot inside.

Enjoy!

It is also a good idea to wrap that around your fridge to keep the cold in... especially underneath the fridge...

On a mates Landy we also lifted the carpets and put the 12mm foam over the transmission tunnel, floorboards an under the seats. almost like wall to wall carpets.

makes a huge difference in the cabin regarding heat and sound!
