Solenoid swiched by the wiper motor
How do you do it, meaning is it plain tap in on the wire and connect it to the solenoid. That wire to the wiper motor looks very thin to me And I assume the solenoid will not connect while you turning the starter motor?
On my dans, kerk en werk bakkie, I having a NL solenoid under the bonnet, and a BH connection at the back for a loose battery, but I also load a camper for trips, which has its own dc to dc charger and battery.
Thus I want to change the NL solenoid to work of the wiper motor instead from its pc board else it will not connect when I load the camper.

If you want to use the wire on the wiper motor just for a ignition on signal then its fine to use.

I also prefer to use the lighter feed wire .... if something goes south, it's no biggie if the lighter socket fuse is blown, at least I still have wipers etc.

Chris, daar is n blou draad wat lewendig word as jy die ignition aan sit. Daar is 5 drade op die plug na die wiper motor toe. En ja is sommer by die wiper motor.

Dankie Johan.
Dit mag dalk die maklikste manier wees om n sein te kry vir die running lights vir die platkar .... sodra Pieter vir ons kwaliteit running-lights inbring ....

if you tap in the wiper wire you can place an inline fuse (small one, smaller than the wiper one itself) in the signal line to the relay. if the relay shorts internally it will pop the smaller fuse.
