Andries, if you open the airfilter box you'll see a diagonal fin just to the left of where the air enters the circular box. I've removed that fin - it is just spotwelded on, and supposedly you can just break it off with a pair of pliers, but the day my box was made the spotwelder must have been well rested because I needed to use an angle grinder... :D:
For the mod to be most effective though you need to get rid of the standard exhaust and run a fatter freeflow right the way through, which I had not done - seemed a bit silly to replace an exhaust which is perfectly fine, even if it is 12 years old....
Theory being, more air in means more air needs to get out.
Results seem subjective. My imagination tells me I can hear the turbo spooling up a bit quicker.... And have not really gone to the trouble to check on fuel consumption before and after, though my KZ does seem to feel a bit more lively.

Did the mod, got better turbo spool. But Oupa Stig is correct in saying that a fat exhaust and 4xlux downpipe is the way to go. A hammer and a small chisel got my box unrestricted.

I agree a bigger diameter pyp will work, the question wat size do I go for?

PS.notice that my pipe to the flex joint is slightly lager then the rest, planing on doing the turbo with new flange mod, makes since

Morning
Did the air box mod,and can hear the turbo spooling more clearly, will wait and see what it does to the fuel economy.
