32" tyres on a Vigo

Post by GeorgeJvR »

Whell in short what should be done to fit 32/11.5/15 tyre and 15" x 10" rimm on a Vigo

Or will i loose too much power in the lower RPM (stop and go traffic)?

You will not only lose power, your fuel consumption will also increase...

Ive got 265/70R17s on a 2014 vigo. According to google tire size convertor its a 31.6x10.4R17. So close to 32s.

Ive only fitted strut spacers and did minimal trimming on the inside of the front bumper to avoid rubbing. Some people also remove the front mudflaps.

But a good alighnment will sort out most of the issues if you got spacers installed

Vian, i'm quite surprised you had to put in spacers or do any mods. Is that not the standard size for the later model vigo?
I know the earlier vigos came standard with 15s / 16s. I've got same tyres on as you but can't say i noticed any scrapping... maybe i did not go offroad enough :mocking:

@dalkill

The standard tire size for the 2012-2015 hiluxes (facelift) was 265/65R17, i went one size larger just to gain the extra clearance, added bonus is that now my speedo is 100% accurate

I would say you need spacers to fit them, as with some strut compression on the front while turning i still get a bit of rubbing. Nothing major, but you know of it.

Hi George, from a buddy's vigo, 32 x 11.5 x 15's did scrape, 265 x 75 x 16 did not scrape (also 32" in diameter but narrower)

these are without a lift, the 265 x 75 x 16 looked very nice with a black steel wheel, from his feedback he didn't really experience any significant fuel increase or power loss.

Am I correct that smaller that 32" size tyres will fit the Vigo SRX in my case) without any modifications?
I am considering 245/75 R16 but might have to get wider rims being that the steel rims are 6J's
