Riaan, I agree with you it is a personal thing. Me personally, I prefer a manual but that is just me. So for the rest of the okes with one leg, they can drive the auto and leave the manual to us men

agree its a personal choice!!

however its up to the people that know to inform the people that dont know(like me)!!

the though of a Auto sounds great for me, with the towing, and the little offroad that I do, however that the auto boxes eat the torque up and break, decided to keep the manual set up, and for other reasons!!

however if I did not have all the facts could of made the wrong choice, despite my circumstances tacking me in the manual directions!!

auto Boxes have their places, however these auto boxes are out of place in the applications that most of us are running!!

I have used both for personal reasons no problem, in fact I also prefer the manual more because it wheel spins much easyer.

The owner of Mr Turbo has a Ls400 with a turbo on a Auto box build into a Bmw with no problems, he boosts 0.8bar and makes 343kw on the wheels. Makes one think!

I supose thy also don't know how a dyno works kfxnando ?

conversion delayed for a few months!!

had a delay, think me told you about, and in the mean time busy building a workshop at home and tooling it out!!
current garage if full of toys (quads and bikes) and need a proper place to work!! and there could be other toys on the way, and need the lexus V8 in to tow the whole set up!!
even have a lathe/milling machine in the work shop, that was another project on its own!! as I bough a second hand machine and gave it a good service!! striped cleaned oiled/greased and assembled and adjusted every thing!! and I dont hire help for any thing, son and self we do every thing, from floors roofs, power/lights/plugs!!
and plan on manufactoring my own A/R headers!!

have made peace with the fact the project will be delayed!!

hope to have it running by X-mas

Yes the auto is down on the power but you would have to crash change your manual to be as fast as the auto  50000 thou sounds reasonable ....New tyers and rims + spray job..... :D The manual also has it's nut aches as what Gary law has found on his 2j colt slipping and now has to go the route of a ruff copper clutch...but anyways. Had my truck lined up for the dyno but the guys load sensor packed up so it will only happen next week :x still sum teething problems that have to be sorted and the guys will run the scan tools over the ecu and check

not surprised!!
those Toyota gearboxes are great, however they can only take so much!!

and all depends on witch Auto box you planing on using!! believe the Lexus auto boxes also break!!

there is one manual gearbox that can take the punch and stay together, and they are relatively cheap!!

that is the BMW gearboxes!! do a little search and see that there arent many of those boxes that break!!

hope this helps!!
