Hopefully fitted with Spitronics v2 Titan box... I've tuned and tweaked a few of these Lexus+Spitronics setups... and even though I'm a Dicktator lover, it's just an excellent combination!

Great job, and you've still kept the Donaldson air filter! It looks a little tight in there, are you still able to get the filter element out?. Also looks like if you were able to re-position the water reservoir, that you could get a 2nd battery in there. Well done, really! ;-)

What's your fuel consumption like? There are a few guys who claim 10km/l and others who I think are closer to the truth who say 5-6km/l

I know one of those guys claiming to get 10km/l but i couldnt beleave it untill i passed him on the highway he must have been doing about 80km/h and i think if you drive at that speed you whill probably get 10km/l but in my opinion you do not put a lexus v8 in your sfa to drive 80km/h but to be honest our consumption is about 6-7km/l at 120km/h and i dont think it is to bad compared to a 4y

That is a consumption I can accept. That is pretty good for a V8. Is that town driving or open road?

I have 2 electric fans from an opel that have been working in there for 5 years now with no propblems. I wont use these cheap fans from midas ect. I have a 3 core radiator from the 2.8 diesel. I have no cooling issues, it runs constantly under half even when fully loaded and going up steep mountain passes. You can also use the 2.7 3 core aluminium rad and if you have a body lift you can use the Kzte rad as it is a bit longer at the bottom.

I'd love to know what that feels like.
I hardly drive my 540i. I constantly wish I could just rip out the engine, box, and front seats and drop it in my Hilux. The Hilux taught me good road manners, and to be very patient :aggresive:
Now I can actually see how terrible South Africans really drive, with no regard for anyone but themselves. :disgust:

nope, I learnt the hard way and blew the gasket 3 times in the first year. After that I did it properly. You have to skim the block and the head to a mirror finish and use a cometic steel gasket with ARP steel studs and bolts. You torque it down to 115nm and no more problems. Also what I did was drill 2 x 7mm holes in the head at no 6 as there is a water jacket in the block and a hole in the gasket but no hole in the head. That give a bit more cooling in the area which was problematic for the 7mge in the past. If you use the normal stretch bolts and gasket you will be doing the head every 30 000km. I have had mine in for 7 years now and I rebuilt the engine for the first time last year and put in new pistons and the whole nine yards plus balancing the motor. It runs like a dream. I built Everdt's (Bulletjie) 7mge in December, so you can ask him how its going. Do it properly and that motor is bullet proof.

You need to get the 3.0 cressida bellhousing. From the scrap yards they may be scarce you might have to get one from the agents. The 4 core should fit fine. Just remember to fit a cometic head gasket and ARP head bolts.

The rebuild with new pistons, balancing the motor, a whole lot of re-wiring and other things I was not happy with cost about R13k. The 2 jz would have cost me over 20k.

2JZ: Lexus IS300 bellhousing (if memory serves) stock standard from agents; fits onto standard Hilux gearbox (22R anyway)
