Lexus Original ECU or Aftermarket
I bought a Lexus 1uz-fe motor with original ECU, harness and gearbox. All I need to do is to purchase a MAF sensor.
My other option is to make use of the aftermarket ECU’s here in SA, I will then not need to buy the MAF.
Using the original ECU, apparently it has a lot of restrictions etc etc. Using Aftermarket you have a lot of other stuff to consider.
Should I perhaps try the original and if it is not working well, try the Aftermarket route then.
What do you guys think?

Hendrik
Eerstens baie welkom hier
Tweededns, ons is mos nou al lankal chommies, hoeveel keer moet ek jou nou nog sê:
DICKTATOR-DICKTATOR-DICKTATOR
Worry eerder oor Manual of Automatic.

Re: Lexus Original ECU or Aftermarket

Re: Lexus Original ECU or Aftermarket
No Gotech also makes one. I would much rather use that then the Spittronic one but I believe the new one from Dicktator might be even better.

Re: Lexus Original ECU or Aftermarket
Prices on the Dicktator management systems: ECU = R2950-00, Gearbox controller = R2500-00 and a ingnitor module = R650-00.
Now another question, what gear shifter should one use?

Re: Lexus Original ECU or Aftermarket
Regardless of which brand you choose i would definately recommend you go with an aftermarket EMU. The stock ones seem to have a lot of trouble with all the sensors co-operating.
My personal experience is using Spitronics EMU for both the engine and the gearbox. Without getting into a debate I can definately recommend the Spitronics. Its simple, very easy to install and has never given me a days trouble.

Re: Lexus Original ECU or Aftermarket
What' really better about the aftermarket systems than the original ECU
I’m willing to change my ECU for an aftermarket system if someone can convince me
According to me, the Japanese will also follow that road, but they didn’t, Why not?

Re: Lexus Original ECU or Aftermarket
