Re: Fitting a new engine
Price?
When would it be available?
Will it come with all necessary mounting brackets and adapters etc to drop it into another vehicle?
Will it come with engine management?
Etc Etc Etc.

Hey Scott
It has been traded in with Danie at Supratech, and available from him.
He would supply everything, has the original ecu and wiring.
Motor now has only about 105k on it.
Danie can help you with pricing though.

Such a small world. I dropped off my 7M motor at Danie this afternoon. We recognised each other as we used to work at the same place 15 years ago.

It is a small world.
I am fitting a 2jz gte motor, Danie recomends it as being one of the best, bulletproof motors to fit without some of the issues of the 7mgte motor with regards to overheating etc.
Will post some pics of the engine and progress as it goes along.

It,s a good motor that loves to rev, the bell housing is std toyota and it fits with space to spare. Is it the later version with the 2 turbo's?

It is the 3.0 litre Twin turbo motor Allen. Getting the boost set as low as possible, but with an electronic boost controller if I do need to SAFELY boost higher.

Sommer speak to Danie and get your brakes upgraded as well, looks like you gonna need it. Let him get you a set of disks and pads from the guys at Powerbrake (http://www.powerbrake.co.za/pages/kits_allterrain.htm).
If there is space inside the rimms to widen the caliper by 8mm you can fit ventilated (cruiser FJ 75 disks Hoppy will be able to supply more details wrt the spacer that is needed between the sides of the callipers) or else get their solid Hilux disks as it too is a vast improvement over the standard ones. I am running their solid disks on my lux as I could not find space for the wider callipers under my mags and it made a big difference to stopping power.
