Diesel Lexus

Dagse, kan iemand my meer vertel oor die diesel lexus 2.2 IS 220d. Kan jy dit in 'n 2.7 2001 Model sit. Sal die ratkas pas op die engin.
Die KZTE engin pas die op die 2.7 se ratkas. Ek moet engin vervang nou kyk ek na opsies, die ander opsie is moes nou maar die petrol Lexus. Dit gaan vir my hier oor brandstof verbruik die voertuig beweeg baie en sleep wa. :siffler:

Is daar dan niemand op die forum wat kan woord rep of help nie. Ek sal maar vir die naweek wag, lyk my al die slim mense werk weg van die huis af in die week. :surrender:

Hannes ek lees nou al tyd lank die forum - en dis die EERSTE keer wat ek sien iemand wil n diesel Lexus engin gebruik .....


Nie baie manne wat die vraag sal kan antwoord nie .....

Die diesel Lexus het klomp krag vir 'n klein engin en brandstof behoort beter te wees. Sy torque is ook op laer revs vir sleep soos wat ek op die web gelees het. 130 kw en 400 NM vir 'n 2.2 engin

op papier sal dit baie goed werk, n paar probleme;

Die Lexus is FWD, so jou cooling system pype, intake en exh gaan heel moontik hier iewers in die fierewall wil uitkom, maar dit is oorkombaar as jy n goeie ingenieur ken.
Die bell housing gaan beslis nie pas nie, jy kan een laat opmaak, maar die 400nm is te veel vir die "G" series gearbox, jy sal n "R" series box van n KZTE of Prado moet kry.
Die ECU en drade is die grootste kopseer, jy sal alles moet saamkry, iets soos n "front cut" en ook n slimkop wat dit kan maak werk en jou kom haal as een van daai 110 drade nie wil kontak maak nie.
Die 4.55 diffs in die 2.7 is ook heeltemal te hoog, jy sal KZTE diffs moet kry.
As jy baie geduld en n dik beursie het, ja, anders verkoop hom aan n Ovambo terwyl hy nog ry en koop n diesel hilux of n Cruiser of iets.

Dis die raad wat ek soek, ek wil nie teveel spandeer op so 'n ou motor nie dan vervang ek eerder net sy top. Kan jul my se of die KZE op die 2.7 se ratkas pas, dis 'n opsie waaraan ek gedink het.

Nie netso nie, maar jy kry n bell housing daarvoor vir omtrent R2500.00
Jy sal ook die diff ratios moet verander wat so R8000.00 gaan kos
Ek sit die KZTE in met n meganiese pomp dan het jy nie n rekenaar nodig nie, maak net seker jy kry n enjin met die regte sump, die imports se sumps pas nie en n sump en pick up kos ook R4000.00
Daar is n klomp ander goed wat jy ook moet verander, die lug filter en die battery sit ook ander kant, ditsal die maklikste wees as jy een by n 'scrapyard" kan kry en alles oorbou.
As jy alles in ag neem, koop maar net n nuwe top vir jou 3rZ, jy gaan in elk geval net 2km/l spaar met n KZTE

if towing is the big thing, then maybe a lexus V8??
it will be fine with the current ratios

self been down a similar road!!
bought the lexus V8, havent done the conversion yet
then bought a Jeep GC V8
tows great!!
always have enough power
fuel consumption not bad

might not of been what you were wanting to hear!!

Thanks for the advice, I am looking around for the lexus V8 now. Engin Den in Pretoria, price looks good.

Hi Hannes

Ek het self my 4x4 Condor amper 3 jaar terug "opgradeer" met 'n Lexus V8. Ons sleep 'n groot Wilk Amethyst karavaan en dit is 'n plesier met die krag van die V8 engin, sukkel nog heelwat met hitte by steil opdraendes mmet die karavaan op die bussie se stert.

Maar om eerlik te wees as ek die horlosie kon terugdraai sou ek eerder die geld wat ek tot nou spandeer het vat en eerder 'n tweedehandse Cruiser of Jeep V8 gekoop het. Moenie die VW Tuareg petrol of diesel miskyk nie, die V6 diesel is 'n goeie opsie.

Die manne met die dik brille het hulle sommetjies mooi uitgewerk en daarom sal ek jou eerder aanbeveel om die standaard roete. As die kortpad die beter pad was, sou dit die hoofpad wees.

as for the overheating when under heavy load, maybe post some pics of the instillation, and maybe someone here can help
dont know who did your conversion, however have seen conversions, that just by sorting out the water pluming, the heat issues was sorted out!!
where what pipe connects in the system can have an influence!!

as for not doing a conversion and buying a vehicle already with a V8, yep, that piece of mind that you can walk into a dealer and say need part XYZ, without having to explain why you need X part for Y vehicle!!
and that it should of been well designed, yep

jeep towing capacity 3.5tons
