Nou ja daar trap ek weer in die wip na ek gesê het ek gaan nie weer 4x4's bou nie?
Ou Johan vang my toe net op 'n slegte tyd en draai my arm :twisted:
Ek sal die hele build dokumenteer en my 11 jaar van Hiluxe race ondervinding deel.(ek ry nou LANDROVER en is nie meer bang vir Hiluxies nie)
Net om gou in breë trekke saam te vat
1 front sus : OME + lotsa mods en trix
2 rear sus : custom 4 link met swaybar(watch vir die ene)
3 lexus V8 manual :mrgreen:
4 35" bande

Die artikel plaas ek op http://www.rebel4x4.co.za/Articles/tabi ... fault.aspx lees daar onder die "articles" soos ek aangaan, en dan kan ons hier op die forum lekker pow wow oor die vordering en resultate.
Voorstelle is welkom veral van manne soos Hoppie en dies meer wat ook baie ondervinding het dan bou ons die UBER LUX.
Ek sal hom eenkeer teen die ander trokke uitvat en dan sal Johann hom as primêre wapen gebruik(man mag mos jou tradisionele wapen met jou saamdra! Boertjie met sy Hilux)

I went to visit my baby last night and I have to say, seeing her in this state of diassembly is a bit nerve racking, but at the same time I am getting more and more exited! The whole underbody is stripped - there is literally only the engine and gearbox left( not for long... :twisted: ). Those should also be out by the end of the weekend and then we start on the Lexus.

We discussed a few more mods last night and you will be amazed to see the results when we are done. I am sure we will be breaking some new ground as we go along.

I also decided that while everything is stripped out, I might as well have everything replaced/ reconditioned. I ordered new seals for the front diff from Toyota (over R 2000 in total!!!! :evil: :evil: ) and should be collecting them tomorrow and start fitting them next week. I also bought a chrome grill, crystal headlamps and an HID kit to bring her nose up to date. We'll be fitting those at a later stage.

Anyway, that's the update. I'll take some foudies tomorrow and post them here, but visit Blommies website for regular updates and articles.

Bennie dis een helse storie!
1ste hilux vere doen glad nie sleg foor as jy 'n ligt enjin in het nie (daaron lexus)
as jy "links" voor inhet soek jy tussen 80 en 100% scuad om dit reg te kry in 'n hilux is effe aan die onmoontlike kand dus hanteer hy nie te lekker met links nie.
Dan gee hy bumpsteer agv die horsshoe steering sisteem en die moet verander word na 'n IFS toy s'n met crossover steering arems, draglink ens ens
Die luxie se chassis is ook maar effe aan die min en dun kant en die draglink skeur somme maklik uit die chassis , nou moet dit ook versterk word ens ens
dit raak dan somme gou een helse spul werk vir meer droop? want die hiluks gee GEEN verbetering in die compressie siklus al doen jy wat.
Nou is jou rollaxis ook BITTER SLEG en moet jy swaybar gebruik om die boddy roll te keer NOG iets wat moet in!!!!!
ANDERS sit Cspanners in soos in die cruiser of landrovers Swakste suspensie nog ooit en die doner wat dit uitgedink het moet nog geskiet word (my opinion if you don't agree meet me at sunset behind the bike parking and bring a GUN)
Sal dan veel eerder springs hou en al die moelikheid vir die ander manne bere :mrgreen:

Craig down here has a similar set up: 35", 64mm lift, 4Y EFi race tuned - a REAL Monster Truck

I hope yours will have a functioning dash board (unlike Craig's) :o:

But I can promise you the endresults will make you understand a lot off things
We spent some time to clean the engine compartment, cleaning and painting the chassis will comence on Monday week.
This project is turning into both Mine and Johans biggest nightmares :mrgreen:
both off us have got this "it's gota be right" thing. Ons twee steek makaar op. Kan ek maar vertel van die 5 ure wat Johan spandeer het om die firewall skoon te maak ?
Die hele enjin kompartement was "gestrip" en alle boude is skoongemaak en gepaseveer, johan sit die nou stuk stuk terug terwyl ek die nuwe shockposts bou. Die projek gaan ongelukkig baie langer as normaal vat omdat ons dit nou oordoen :mrgreen:
Die results sal egter die moeite werd wees

Eric, I was also very worried about the "surgery", but as Blom said, "there's method behind the madness!" :twisted: And madness it certainly is - I spent one whole evening scrubbing the firewall with a toothbrush... :o: :o: :o:

I apologise for the late update, but it's been hectic at work. I have also been spending a lot of time cleaning my Lux and therefore there is not much visual progress. We have however cleaned up the engine bay and chassis and sprayed it satin black. Blom is also almost finished with the shock posts. I'm sure that after this weekend's Rebel Rock Crawl we'll pick up some speed again.

Lucas het gaan kyk wat het ingekom op die nuwe shipment by Quinton maar daar is nie 'n skoon enetjie nie, het toe gebel en Quinton se daar kom weer container in so teen maandag sal maar gaan kyk.
Het ook gekyk by Boston hulle het baie en skoon enjins maar nie die REGTE een nie
So ons wag maar weer, Hy sal kom op sy tyd wees net geduldig.
