My FIL (he is asilent member) is wanting to ditch the 2.2 litre engine in his 1990 D?C 'lux and get something with a little more grunt. The engine 2.2 engine is mint and only has 160k genuine kilometers on but it does sukkel with the 33" wheels and he doesnt like Taxis flying past him!
Before he can make up his mind, he would like a little more info, and thumbsuck prices, on the respective conversions. Does anyone have contact details for somebody that does conversions. He is considering 3.0 V6 Frot, 3.4 V6 Frot, 7MGE, 3RZ or the 4.0 Lexus.
What do the engines cost respectively?
What should one pay for the respective conversions?
Which engines mate the best/easiest with the Hilux drivetrain?
Who does these conversions?
Your opinions of the respective conversions would be greatly appreciated.
