PraDog vs. White Fang
So yesterday (Saturday) we decided to put Pradog through his paces at the 4x4 training centre that Thinus Botha developed just outside town. Participants were Pradog, driven by myself, and White Fang, driven by nephew Jacques. The purpose of this was to see what PraDog is capable of, and White Fang was intended as a recovery vehicle, if necessary. Of course, the fact that we forgot to take along any recovery equipment of any nature did not worry us too much...
Pradog features a 3.4 litre V6 engine and a 4-speed auto box, and I was uncertain just how he would perform on a trail. He already had a n OME suspension fitted when I bought him.
Like I needed to worry...
The trail is certainly not that technical but does contain some interesting obstacles, rated at 1 - 3, I would suppose. Pradog handled everything that we tackled with zest and was indeed a pleasure to drive. There are some 4 - 5 different trails, we covered about two and a half, we did not attempt the marsh because it was very wet from the constant rain we've had lately.
Our first trip was around lunchtime and we took a camera with for the pics. Unfortunately, the camera battery was deader than a door mouse, so we did the trails without taking any pictures. Then we went home for lunch while recharging the battery, and returned about 3PM that afternoon, and here we did manage to take some pics:
First part of trail, WF attempted in 2WD but got stuck and J had to clamber out in the mud to lock the hubs (He's a LR driver, so we forgive him for that ). Pradog just sailed through without any problems in Low Ratio 2.
White Fang and PraDog showing some flex
From White Fang's Mirror...
Coming out of the Quarry
Going down the Steps...
Part of the trail
All in all we had a fab time and Jacques even took his LR there for some exercise this morning. PraDog impressed me no end and I now know that he will go anywhere that White Fang can go.
Score 10/10!

Yes, got to fix the Signature up again!
Seriously, this is one lekker machine! The price I paid for it was a steal, I still feel guilty about it, and it was even from a Dealer as well...
Still have to change the spots for better ones, but that is easier said than done, I have to remove the RV bull bar to do this, the bull bar is completely boxed in from below. So I might just wait a while before fixing the sig-pic up ;)

You're right... I had no idea I was going to buy it until I just happened to see it. I just peered in through the window and next thing that pesky Salesman was breathing down my neck.... and I'm so very glad he did! ;)

Lekker, Eric!
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.
Life is like a jar of Jalapeño peppers ... what you do today, might burn your ass tomorrow.
Don't take life too seriously ..... no-one gets out alive.
It's not about waiting for storms to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.
And be yourself ..... everyone else is taken!

Cassie, I agree! He looks so much better in WF than in a LR!

After the trail riding, it was bath time for PraDog & White Fang:
The Site Foreman was watching diligently, as most Site Foremen do...
Err... you were keeping a beady eye on things, weren't you Sir.. Madam?
"Of course I was, Silly!"
