In Orru, We need a 48 hour pack, (a basic survival back pack). When we need to search for a missing person, you grab your pack just in case you don’t make it to the car before sunset.
My Pack Contains
1. My Knife. You always need an Knife, its your no 1 tool (keep it on me)
2. Means to clean Water. (tablets, life Straw)
3. A small First aid kit, (SMALL)
4. Food. (ready to eat) I buy those John West Vacume Pack tuna, ready to eat, light to carry, 2 year shelf life, with provitas, and Jungle/ energy bars. ( Now thats what I call a balanced meal)
5. Big orange Survival Bag. Various uses
6. I have a small sleeping bag, (800g) that fits in my 25l back pack. Use that with my survival Bag
7. Dry shirt and Pants (Not cotton, get Addidas, nike, kway, etc, kwik wik stuff that dries quickly)
8. Flint , bic, Waterproof matches (means to light fire)
9. Positive attitude and a big smile, Yes I enjoy going out and test my pack)
10. TEST YOUR PACK BEFORE A SURVIVAL SITUATION!

According to your survival kit a person would think that you have been part of one of the special forces(Military) groups in the world, but well noted, and I believe you can fit that in to a relatively small container like 2L big, for a 5L container you can add emergency rations and water.

I would just add a 1mx1m clear plastic sheet(for when there is no water) with some medication like Charcoal tablets and Panado and then lastly a scalpel and a small piece of dayglow pannel 200mmx200mm.
