OK so keeping my wheels I've done a bit on it since I asked for the Guesstimate. So spent a few pennies but worth it. Doing trip in 2 weeks. basically 2 parts. Part 1 doing desert trip through Naukluft for about 6 days, and 2nd bit is a 6 day fishing trip north of Henties

So, so far I've done a few cosmetics and then the following

- New Blades front and back (Mikem fronts and extra leaf at back)
- New Gabriel Shocks - again Hoppy knows the correct serial numbers.
- New Steering Dampener Shock (Gabriel)
- Clear lens lights in front (again Hopppy knows where to get these)
- Dual Battery System rewire – pulled out all wiring back to front and rewired using 4mm wire. No body earth but rather direct cable to battery negative. kept Marine Switch. Brad Harrison Plug in Cab and loadbin. Then 3 cigarette plug Battery Monitor installed in front of Bench seat(http://www.ringautomotive.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;). All Hella and other points connected directly to 2nd battery
- Cold Air induction pipe from air filter
- 150 Liter fuel tank in loadbin (fitting tomorrow)
- Front seat re-upholstered
- New Safetybelts (Midas Universal)
- New canopy

took vehicle to Atlantis few weeks ago and new suspension makes huge difference with traction.

Eish, hate to tell you this but 6/8mm cable, ain't going to be sufficient......

Check out this voltage drop calculator:
http://www.kilowatts.com.au/calculator-voltage-drop.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I get approx. 10sqmm cable?

So also added tank on saturday. Fitted like a glove and myself and hope did some serious measuing to fit it in the loadbin. Had to move the rollbar about 10cm's back to make sure the filler pipes connect and bottom connector into primary filler. Outside filler also got small breather. Then strapped tank into loadbin with 400kg rated ratchet straps - she ain't going nowhere. Happy to report that no fuel smell in canopy so breather doing it's job :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

Will post pics I promise!!!

Doc

Could you please post a wider angle shot of your 2nd battery position.

Reason why, I fitted my battery there last night, and my donaldson doesn't fit in :eh:

Probs just doing it wrong, but seems my donaldson is bigger looking at the pic already up

Your help will be GREATLY appreciated :beg:

Van, looks like yor cold air induction is presently a hot air induction system without filtration .... in the first pic the bottom pipe from the air cleaner to the carb is off / hanging loose. :eh:

Thanks Doc

Defi the way I wanna go. I'm now convinced though that the donaldson I have is way bigger then yours as mine takes up the entire space where your battery is.

I can't even move it off the fender towards the power steering as it's still to big :x

Again Thanks,

When I posted the pics I saw the loose pipe. Some appies - believe them if they say it is tightened :wth: :wth: though I heard an extra vavaa voom this morning

Pipe anyway too old so will replace today and do it right the 1st time :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

Tonight Mission Spotlights!!! Previous owner(s) wiring so dodgy I nearly spent an hour last night trying to figure out where everything went and hooked up (and now I also remember why I cut the spots off - caused havoc on my lights)

New wiring from lights to relay done. Now the 12V and switch in cab linkup (keeping the lights completely separate from normal light beam high\low)

And so I learn - I'm no Mech or Electrical engineer but past few weeks have learnt a lot spending time for e.g. with the new tank and dual battery setups. It's easy to give the task to someone and pay them to do it. when you opbserve and even get your hands dirty - that is the way you learn!!! Also makes problem solving easier :dance1: :dance1: :dance1:

Thanks to Internet and common knowledge and my Sub A teacher for helping me Read.... I wired my spotlights - new wires, fuse box, 12V relay, switch in cab. And it worked 1st time I switched the power back on!!!!! :yahoo: :yahoo: Although not a mega job it was time consuming getting all the old crap out and rewiring everything.
