my New Kettle

Post by george »

I got myself one of these Storm Kettle's from Greensports(R669)
http://www.eydonkettle.com/
You can use twigs, grass, paper etc.I tested it on a gas stove and it worked quite well.Actually the standard kettle boiled quicker on the gas.
It also fits nicely in a ammo box
Now to test it properly in the veld :dance1:

I think the price goes hand in hand with the manufacture / design of the unit.

Can't be that simple.....

Bigger flame = quick result

Small flame like gas stove (7cm) will take a little longer me thinks :wink2:

Now I sommer lus vir 'n BRANDY.

I didnt realy buy it to save time.It is probably more of a novelty. Gas is just so boring when you are camping. Especially early in the morning if you want you first cuppa.Instead of building a big fire(which is probably the right thing to do) you just make your small fire in the kettle. :dance1: Just give the coffee more soul

Ok so i tested the kettle today with a bit of wood.Really impressed. It took 3,5 minutes to boil 1,2 lt of water. To me it is not about the time thing,i just love to make fire.
This was also my first time that I made fire with that flint sticks you get.i used cotton balls rubbed with vaseline for tinder. :shifty: (Waars Thys en Niel)
