Post by Okkie Van Wyk »

Hi guys,

Why don't you guys use tracks4africa? Unfortunately only Garmin compatible, but most of the dirt roads and 4x4 tracks in Southern Africa already converted to maps. If you do have tracks that's not on T4A, send it to them for inclusion in their maps, then it gets shared with everybody.
http://www.tracks4africa.co.za

The CD for the whole of Africa is something like R 650, can buy individual maps as well. And the newest version also routable. There maps are very accurate because it is compiled of more than one track.

Just my 2c.

Cheers,

T4A is great, and should have all or most of the info needed. However, it seems that the lastest version of T4A has issues when used on a Quest, possibly due to auto-routing clashes. Nevertheless, T4A is a great source of track info, and it is worthwhile indeed. But for those who don't yet have T4A, the idea has merit.

Jy is 'n goie bewys daarvan, :) Briljante idee!
