Hey all,
I just got a message from my brother, who just last week bought an '08 Tuna, his road closure in Edenglen sent him this message:
Two Fortuners have been stolen from the parking area of the Deck Pub/Restaurant. The most recent incident was on 5/10 in the evening. Please can owners of these vehicles and Hiluxs be aware that Toyota has brought out an anti theft upgrade to make them harder to steal. Contact your local Toyota agent for info.
Does anyone have any further feedback on this "modification" and what the cost is? And of course is it true, has TSA actually decided to help the owners out of these highly sort after cars by those damn thieves?

Hi Geoff!
All the new 2011 come fitted with this new system, the insurance companies forced em as a result of the high number of claims.
You can purchase the kit from Toy for approx. R350.00, which has been around for some time

On the new models there is a place, (same as the 'upgrade' plate) however the new models are fitted with a bonnet sensor switch, which triggers when bthe nonnet is forced open.....damage done.....

Low & Behold, they tried to steal my brothers Tuna, we noticed this morning Fender & bonnet damage!
He is in the process of moving the alarm horn to a lower position, but the damage is done, we were even thinking that although there is a "fix" from TSA you will still end up with body damage.
Does it help to install an "early warning" tracking system?
