Re: Is it worth the buck?
I think it's definately worth it!!! Nothing to be done and low milage. I mean for me (Paid R50k) i still need ome R16000, A/C R13000, BF's R8000. This is already short of what you get there. I say it's Definitely worth it and I am sure it should sell quick. R88k means you can probably get it for R85000.

Re: Is it worth the buck?
A thorough test drive and a simple compression test will help verify that the vehicle is what he sais it is. Give it a good revving and check for smoke, a motor with that milage should not smoke at all. Also I don't think that someone would invest so much money on extras on a vehicle that is a lemon.

Ja, do you perhaps know it?? Since I am sitting in Cpt, and IF I will be able to sell my bakkie before it goes, I'll probably need some 'inside info' regarding itOOOOMS wrote:Christiaan, where is this vehicle, Jhb? Seems familiar....

Nothing as red as that can ever be a lemon... a ruby grapefruit maybe, but a lemon??KZNSFA4Y wrote:Also I don't think that someone would invest so much money on extras on a vehicle that is a lemon.
On the pictures it looks nice, but I even with the extras I think the price is a bit high... just a tad.. I'd say R75K at the most..

Re: Is it worth the buck?
With 148000kms and a 98 model? No way, the thing is that OME is almost not an extra but rather essential. So is the long range tank. I say he would be done in taking any less than R85k assuming everything is hunky dory.ThysdJ wrote:Nothing as red as that can ever be a lemon... a ruby grapefruit maybe, but a lemon??KZNSFA4Y wrote:Also I don't think that someone would invest so much money on extras on a vehicle that is a lemon.

Double check the millage, it seems abnormaly low for a 13year old...
Also there MIGHT be a reason for not having stickers on the sides...

Re: Is it worth the buck?
Good question .... and not all '98's were LTD's.george wrote:Was the 98 models not the Limited?GeorgeJvR wrote:Why no stickers on the sides?
The seats are also re-covered or have covers .... wonder why. Check the steering wheel and pedal rubbers for wear ... that should also help to indicate what usage it's had. With all those extras I think 80 to 85k max would be a fair price IF the rest of the vehicle is hunky dory. I would also change those tyres to 31's ..... 33's are a bit too much for the 22R unless the diff ratios have been changed.

Also those B-pillars don't seem to blacked out as they should be. Something smells like a snoek there.

Re: Is it worth the buck?
The bakkie looks good indeed. The price may be a bit high, but if you like the bakkie then that is the one for you.A cheaper bakkie wont always have all those extras,so you will spend the money on that extras and at the end the bakkie will cost you more.

My thoughts exactly. It's going to cost me a lot to get all the kit he has on that SFA.legend35 wrote:The bakkie looks good indeed. The price may be a bit high, but if you like the bakkie then that is the one for you.A cheaper bakkie wont always have all those extras,so you will spend the money on that extras and at the end the bakkie will cost you more.

Looks nice, and even if it had a respray its still a bargain - as long as there's no rust involved.

Re: Is it worth the buck?
Agree with Andy, Johan Legend & Hans; even if resprayed it is a bargain with all the extras, provided there is no accident damage etc and the mileage is genuine. Mileage not unusually low IMO; my LTD has 224k km on it...a certain '96 model doing the e-mail rounds has only 170k km odd on it.

Re: Is it worth the buck?
Does look like a nice deal. Just check the seems of the body panels for any deviations etc to know if it was in any serious accidents hence the reason for respray. The kilometers could be true but it is very seldom that you will get that kind of low mileage with a vehicle that age. When I bought mine it was 13 to 14 years old and it only had 138 000km's on and I know this to be the true kilo's as I knew the previous owner. m2cw

I know of a ''99 IFS that doesn't yet even have 51,000km on it... so quite possible!

Re: Is it worth the buck?
I just fell in love with this vehicle, I was wondering what the other extras were as the list stated ETC. Then I noticed the gearlock and it's even in an offset position so it doesn't irrate you. My leg no longer bruises on the spot the gearlock hits it.
