Wide open spaces, no trails, no roads, you just have to drive basically blind, you have to read the lie of the land, watch out for Ant Eater holes, huge rocks jutting out of the ground, but driving a Hilux like mine means that the average other model, type 4x4 cannot follow in my tracks, driving through grass that hides various factors that can and will hamper other 4x4 vehicles, we just judge for ourselves where to drive and what route to take, in this phioto I was upfront, the other guys were behind me and basically followed behind and made their own way in the same direction that I was taking, here I was driving down this grassy hill, not knowing if I would find a way across at the bottom, this is what we call Venturing or exploring new terrain no other vehicle has ever been through this area, thus once again The good old Hilux had to lead the way so that The Jeep, Colt, Landrover, Isuzu and Mazda could follow.

Image

The huge mountain in the distance of this photo was where we eventually ended up for a braai, but went to our left and around behind and after crossing many rivers, streams and hilly hills we were there.
Image

Image

This photo above is a very excellent photo, just shows that Colt are behind :) but I sure enjoy the blue water in the stream below.

Driving up the other side once we had found a way across the river below, basically when driving a Hilux with high ground clearence rocks are not normally an issue, just a push of two buttons and
Both ARB Lockers are activated and the super low range of The Marlin moves this Hilux along as well.

Syron,

These are a species of eucalyptus called White Box and its one of about 700 species of gum tree that grows in Australia (they all still look the same to me...). Gums grow in almost every habitat and when left undisturbed make quite thick forests - this is a natural forest. They obviously burn very easily, which is why Australia gets such nasty bushfires. Last year we had a fire that burnt for more than a month and destroyed more than a million hectares and it was only brought under control and extinguished when, completely out of the blue, it snowed on Christmas day!

Geen vorm nodig nie trek net n stormer trui aan en stuur n video clip waar jy se dat die Stormers die beste span ooit is en dat jy jammer is dat jy ooit the BB support het. Post dit op youtube en alles is done en stuur n kas tafels. Ek stuiur my details in n PM

I never owned one, not interested. Only build it up for my father-in-law, only to tow it around with my white Hilux. My father-in-law sold the old thing so there is no more Landrovers left in the family.

Simon,
If your wife looks like my wife then we have two things in common, 1st a very good bakkie and 2nd a very good looking wife, but then you have to ask yourself " what was she doing so far away from home?" and with my wife's sister? but still they look good through a Hi-Lux windscreen or am I wrong?
It's beter to look at a distance while sitting in your Lux, and then you can ask yourself " Do I have everything that I want or must I keep my swambo too??????
