Good to be back-Help on purchase of 2008 D4D

Post by turbo6906 »

Helooooooooooo all!

Its good to be back on the forum. Its been a while.

O.k guys, Im looking at a 2008 2.5 D4D single cab 4x4 and i need a little bit of advice from you guys.
It has 106,000 Km on the clock and the seller wants N$ 198.000 for it. I must say the van is in top nick. It was very well looked after. Now here are my Peeves/Questions;

1) Is the price right for such a vehicle?

2) Is it worth it buying a car with that much mileage on the clock?

3) How are the 2.5 D4D's? (For use of off-roading , Travelling, Ect.)

4) How is the fuel consumption of these Bakkies?

And finally do you think this will be a good buy?

Like i said the car is in immaculate condition and comes with a canopy.

I will truly appreciate your advice and help on this one.

Bruno.

Bruno, N$ 198k for a 2008 4X4 SC 2.5 is way out in ZA terms....... :thumbdown: (even in imaculate condition)

My bil wanted to sell his 3.0 D4D 2009, 4X4 100000km's with plenty of extra's (40k worth) for R160k, but decided to keep it, in immaculate condition.

Consumption, I will not be able to give you details as my setup is very different.

R155 000 - R165 000, no more than that, fuel will be about 8 - 9,5km/l. If you want to drive fully laden in the Namib desert, this will not be the vehicle for you, it is under powered and will not do well in the dunes, for "normal" 4x4 is it very capable.
