Insurance of suspension

Post by Alibaba »

Hi guys

For insurance purposes, can you put expensive aftermarket suspension up as an extra, like a canopy?

Ali,

I'm insured by Santam. Have canopy, shocks, tyres, rims, radios, fridge, slides, rt tent, tools (limited by Santam) compressor, jacks. You pay extra but think of the cost to replace if your loved one get afirmative shoped. :aggresive:

Ali, you must specify things like aftermarket suspension, bumpers, extra fuel tank, canopy ( and what goes inside ), roof rack, winch, etc, etc - even spotlights.

if you dont and something happens then you only get paid out for a standard vehicle's value.

if you have an accident ( as was in my case ) then they will repair the vehicle back to standard.

In my case it was better for me to get the insurance to write off my bakkie, buy it back and repair, otherwise I would've lost all my nice pieces.

OK thanks, I am insuring all the extra stuff. I'm just wondering if suspension is accepted by Santam as an extra or part of the original vehicle.

After-market suspension is definitely an extra. ;-)
