This caught my eye yesterday, it was/is a sprinkler pipe that was leaking and spraying onto the fence, it was around 13:00 hrs and was so cold that the water on the fence froze

Re: Snow
Yesterday, shortly after 9am, we set off to Mooi River to see the snow.
Light snow did fall in the Greytown district but nothing spectacular.
On getting to the top of the hills past Rietvlei snow falls were heavier and got progressively more as we went along. The views were awesome.
We decided to turn off north along a rural road (29,196788, 30.083915).
Only one other vehicle had used the road and judging by the tread pattern it was a tractor. A short distance later I decided it was time to lock my front hubs in case I suddenly needed 4xr4. Just as well I did as it was soon obvious that traveling in 4x4 was a wise decision.
The tractor had come onto the road at 29.162908, 30.043136 and from then on it was virgin snow. We decided to press on but after about 30 meters I realized that the Hilux had become a very inefficient snow plough and that our chances of continuing was close to zero. So we decided to turn back. I reversed back and using the tractor ruts were he had come onto the district road was able to turn.
About a one kilometer on the way back we came across a Toyota 2 wheel drive bakkie that was hopelessly stuck with his wife/girl friend vainly pushing.
Besides not having 4x4, his load bin was empty and his tyres were well worn with about as much tread as a snooker table.
We advised that he turn back, but he said he would continue. Guess he must have spent much of his day stuck in a snow drift.
So we continued to Mooi River for a packet of chips from the Wimpie.
The N3 on both the north and south side of Mooi River was still closed, the Wimpie was deserted and there were only a few vehicles at the pumps.

Re: Snow
Hi Mark. Nice pics, but then you guys are quite a bit north of the tropics and elevated as well ..... we on the other hand are not too far south of the tropics and a lot of these unusual snow falls are on low-lying 'flat-lands'. Weather patterns have changed a lot here over the past two decades. This is supposed to be "Sunny South Africa".
