Arctic Toyota
I did a comparison of the Hilux and Arctic Hilux a while ago. I thought you might enjoy these pictures:
And more recently I also had the pleasure of driving the Arctic Land Cruiser:
Cruiser: 35x12.5 R 17 wheels. Front and back suspension lifted 40mm. Ground clearance improved from 225mm to 270mm, attack and departure angles improved by 7-8º.
Drives very well with surprisingly little body roll.

Re: Arctic Toyota
I had that Hilux Extended Cab for a week test. I remember thinking to myself when I picked it up, "man, this is one good looking bakkie!". But when I parked it next to the Arctic version it seemed a bit bland all of a sudden!

Looks fantastic, Johann. What all has been modified besides the wheel spats, bigger wheels and suspension lift?

Re: Arctic Toyota
Hi Mud Dog
Of course there are several body modifications (talking Hilux now) including some modification to the A-pillar. Flares are color coded, new side-step, new mud flaps, speedo gets re-calibrated and the suspension is upgraded both front and rear (Koni in this case). Then of course new rims and tyres. The rims are SA designed and manufactured.
These Arctic convertions are done on both new and used bakkies. So anybody can have their currant bakkie converted.
These AT conversions go up to very big wheels. All the way to 44's I think. But if you start going bigger than 35 the you have to do major mods like moving axles etc.

Re: Arctic Toyota
There's quite a bit of bodywork done to do this conversion. It's a LOT more than fitting flares. If you are in Knysna you should really visit their premises it's quite impressive. The fact that it does not seem like there's much done on the photos goes to show how well this conversion is done. Keep in mind that the bodywork is cut away to make space for those big wheels to turn from lock to lock. Now think of all the other unseen things that has to be done in this conversion. Down to new liners under the flares etc. And all those new parts are manufactured by AT themselves.

Dis hoekom ek verbaas is toe jy se die verskil was nie so groot nie.

Re: Arctic Toyota
