It looks good, but it's illegal, you can expect a fine soon, you are not allowed to paste anything on a windscreen except the licence disc, the law was passed about three years ago.

The sticker cost R350.00 fitted.
Well it is the new SA so anything goes, for the traffic oaks it is another income....

Our Road Traffic Inspectorate vehicles are all sticker-ed up front and rear windows, so it must be a win-win situation, "you remove your, I'll remove mine"

Allan for interest sake, what about the vehicles were all the windows side and rear are covered with the perforated stickers? You can still see through them?? Is that also against the law??

You get thousands of cars with the ads on the back saying.... " drive a car from R699" in JHB. I don't think the company would be allowed to supply these cars if it was against the law.... My opinion.

Delia is my sister in law... So guess what my Bakkie is getting next...

The law only applies on the windscreen and the driver and front passenger's side windows, with the rest you may do as you wish.

The problem is, you leave your car parked, when you return, there is a fine pasted on your window, now exactly how much time and effort will it take to explain your point to some "eh..eh" who is only employed to run up the phone bills and fart holes in the office chair? Just not worth it, i removed mine.

Window stickers could land motorists a fine

January 3 2002 at 08:54pm
Motorists can now be fined R100 for pasting stickers on vehicle windows or for having any other obstructions in their cars which might impede their view.

Offending stickers may include vehicle-registration discs pasted in such a way that they obscure a driver's vision.

KwaZulu Natal provincial traffic spokesperson Gabriel Marron said the offending stickers could also include those for disabled permits or entrance permits.

Provincial Transport and Works MEC Tasneem Essop said that according to regulation 204 of the Road Traffic Act of 1996, motorists will have to make sure that no stickers on their windows could possibly endanger their own lives or those of passengers and drivers of other vehicles.

Regulation 204 was implemented in January last year, but was being enforced by traffic authorities only since Wednesday.

Essop said there would be no specific and concentrated effort on the part of local traffic authorities to enforce the regulation, but motorists would be stopped on an ad hoc basis to remove the offending stickers.

An initial report in a KwaZulu Natal newspaper stated that all stickers on windows and windscreens would be prohibited and that offenders could get a R300 fine.

Essop said: "According to my information, this is not accurate. Fines for offending stickers will be no higher than R100. However, there is no specific campaign in the Western Cape to catch offenders." - Own Correspondent

"not to obscure the driver's vision". I get that, and agree. But up there, in the tinted area? Behind the sun visor, which should then also be illegal? Pull the other one, it's got bells on. What are you supposed to look out for, low flying aircraft?
And if the darn fine writer does not understand the law which he is supposed to enforce, make him sit in the driver's seat, tell him to watch you walk around the car from driver to passenger door, and to stop you when anything on your windscreen prevents him from seeing you. If he doesn't stop you he cannot justify a fine, now can he?
But yeah, sometimes I wonder how people can see around all the gps's and goetters on their dashboards....
I feel a lot less wise at 45 than I did at 15.

I doubt that will happen, my experience with metro cops is they do not know the law that much themselves :laugh2: , stop when stopped and give them what they want and then off you go.

Even with my 6 spots on the roof (also illegal), whenever they stop me all they do is stare at this black youngster driving a white man's truck with a fridge inside :mocking: , and ask if I use it for work :lmao:

9 out of 10 times I give them the license cos they then forget what they stopped me for in the first place :surrender:
