Hilux Raider 1996 S/C

Post by raider »

Good day Gents,

This is my truck, it belonged to my dad. He had it since new and it only has around 110 000km. I had it blown over and removed all the panels myself to paint ns4 rust buster. The chassis and underside of the vehicle also has a wax type protective coating applied to it. Only real mod is a brospeed branch and powerflo freeflow.

So a few months back I decided to do some work on the engine. On start up the chain would rattle a bit and then the noise would disappear after a few seconds. It was nothing major but after 16years i decided to give the engine some loving.

I replaced the timing chain, oil pump, water pump and all necessary gaskets etc. Since Aisin manufactures the oil pump for Toyota it is a oem part. On the new oil pump it has the Toyota logo filed off on the exact same place of the original one.

I also decided to get me some new steelies, well actually old steelies. These are nice 8j unlike the ones you find nowadays. I had them sandblasted and then sprayed them with Hamerite. I chose Hamerite so they can be touched up in the future unlike powder-coating where the whole rim needs to be redone.

Finally got around to putting the black steelies on. I must say it gives the Hilux a much more aggressive look!
