Re: Men United Prostate Cancer UK
I have to see a specialist every 6 months.
the one up side is that once a year we include ALL the blood tests (well the usable ones) - from prostate to cholesterol the works gets checked.

Yeah, I have started going twice a year now too. Unfortunately it is something that has to be done.

Re: Men United Prostate Cancer UK
IN ALL SERIOUSNESS - My mom worked as nurse in a cancer ward for 25 years. Seen s few things in this time .... the single biggest common denominator went something like this:
- Koos does not feel well
- Koos sees a GP, and gets some meds
- Koos still does not feel well, see GP again, now gets different meds
- Koos still does not feel well and sees a DIFFERENT GP (often dont tell GP 2 of GP1), get some more meds ...
- cycle repeats and repeats...
- 6 months to a year later finally one GP figures out here is a pattern - THEN ONLY are proper tests done !!!
- cancer is detected now, but is "too far advanced" ....
- few months later Koos pass away !
IF, you see the need to get a second opinion, PLEASE ensure you tell of the first GP and what has been tested for.
PLEASE NOTE: There is also JUVINILE Cancer !! School going kids, students, young adults DO contract cancer !! All too often symptoms are then misdiagnosed as "sports injuries" until it is way too late !!!
Seeing a mom bury her 19 year old son from testicular cancer is no joke.
